Logitech and Chinese gaming goliath Tencent have reported they are cooperating to make another handheld control center that will “support multiple cloud gaming services”. They have proactively uncovered that they are working with the Xbox Cloud Gaming and NVIDIA GeForce NOW groups so both those administrations will be supported.
“Logitech G’s leadership in PC and console gaming gear make them an ideal partner to help us realize the vision of bringing a better gaming experience to gamers around the globe,” said Daniel Wu, senior supervisor of Tencent Games Smart Solution Innovation Lab. “Today marks the start of a new opportunity for our companies to further push the frontiers of gaming devices.”
“As one of the leading global platforms for game development, publishing and operations, Tencent Games has been at the forefront of innovation and it’s why we partnered with them,” said Ujesh Desai, head supervisor of Logitech G. “As someone that grew up playing video games, the idea of being able to stream and play AAA games almost anywhere is super exciting, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on.”
The Logitech G Gaming Handheld control center will be marked down in the not so distant future, which is fairly astounding. Considering that the control center streams games it won’t should be that strong so the cost could be very attractive.
This could be a major win for Microsoft and they scarcely need to make the slightest effort, simply sell the Xbox Game Pass to the individuals who have bought the control center. There is no sign that Sony are involved or that the PlayStation Plus streaming levels will be available.
However, sending off another control center is consistently a hazardous business and we have seen many make enormous cases yet fizzle at send off. Atari’s console has not shaken things up, maybe in view of the cost which is more than Xbox Series S, and who cannot fail to remember Ouya. Well everybody for reasons unknown. In some cases a trick works, a console that looked like a boob sold out in seconds.
