The forever well known SpongeBob SquarePants is back in a pristine 3D platforming experience with the newly uncovered SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake. It’s coming soon to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
The Cosmic Shake tears SpongeBob and Patrick out of Bikini Bottom for an undertaking across a huge number of Wishworlds, every one with a one of a kind setting and set of rules to observe. The small bunch of levels highlighted in the declaration trailer saw them first in Halloween Rock Bottom with Gary having been changed by detestable Halloween candy. What follows is a platforming level where you really want to stay away from Gary’s look and time your bouncing and fighting to not get caught.
After that it was journey back to ancient times, riding around on rock stones in magma waterways, jumping between man wipe eating lilypads and the sky is the limit from there. Then was a world themed around cleaning up and battling wrongdoing as RockyBob, there’s the Wild West Jellyfish Fields, and more.
Announced back in 2021, it seems to be an enjoyably wild and fluctuated experience, and coming from a studio has a lot of involvement in SpongeBob SquarePants. Purple Lamp was most recently seen having made Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, the redo of the PS2 period platformer that was delivered in mid 2020. In our review for that game Thomas wrote:
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is a strong change that maybe remains excessively consistent with the first. The refreshed visuals carry the game more inline with the first animation series, yet some dated game plan keeps the port away from being genuinely exceptional.
It’s essential for an example that we’ve seen with THQ Nordic, of remastering licenses that they’ve gotten prior to restoring them with full on spin-offs. Hopefully The Cosmic Shake winds up on the better finish of the range for it.
